Our TDM Process
Sample Collection
Samples are usually taken at the end of the dosage interval, often referred to as the trough level. Appropriate sample type and timing help ensure the result is clinically meaningful.
Information Requirements
To support accurate interpretation, relevant information should accompany each sample, such as dose, time of collection, concomitant medication, reason for request and any clinical concerns.
Laboratory Analysis
All assays are performed using validated methods with appropriate sensitivity and specificity. Analysis is carried out by experienced scientists and supported by internal quality controls and participation in external quality schemes.
Reporting and Interpretation
Results are reviewed before release and provided in mass units with reference ranges where appropriate. Interpretation considers individual patient factors, published therapeutic guidance and any additional information supplied by the requester.
